Pregnant Paws......
Please come back and visit our website for information about upcoming litters.
At this time, we have no plans for a litter.
If you are thinking of adding a Leonberger to your family then you may like to click on the title to read the Choosing Your Breeder page with questions you may wish to ask breeders to help you in the search to find your Leonberger pup.

We attended the 2008 Royal Melbourne Show on the 24th September and took along with us Calyph, Mimi and Tamsin. Meagan also attended with Guyli. The day was long, but, as per usual the Leos made many new friends there. All our dogs were great with the general public and enjoyed being patted. We were very prould of all our dogs, but particularly the way Calyph handled his first Royal Show.

Calyph won Puppy of breed, Mimi was second in her Intermediate class, whilst Tamsin was third in Open Class. Guyli took Open Dog class and was awarded Challenge Dog. He then went on to win Runner-Up Best of Breed. Calyph and Guyli are pictured below in the show ring.

We are very pleased to announce that we now have our second Konigslair Kennels Champion. Monika achieved the final points for Khan's (Konigslair Carshalton) Australian title at the Macalister All Breeds Kennel Club Shows held at the end of August. Monika has started Obedience Trials with Khan and he has now obtained his first pass for his CCD title.

Murphy (Konigslair Golden Murphy) achieved his Australian Championship title whilst on holidays in NSW early this year. Special thanks to Monika and Khan and Trish and Stuart for their efforts in helping us achieve these honours.

We are hoping it won't be too long before Kathy, after she recovers from puppy duties, is able to gain those last few points for Takoda's (Konigslair Byronie) Australian title.

About Our Puppies......

We are so very proud of our four Konigslair litters of pups. We are delighted with the temperaments we have seen in Mitta and Basso's, Tamsin and Konig's, Mitta and Guyli's, and Tamsin and Khan's pups. We have received many compliments about our puppies and to know that each and every one of them is a much loved member of their family is all we can ask for as breeders.

Kathy gave me permission to share the following observation on some of Mitta's puppies from her first litter :-
"Basso has indeed produced beautiful kids and whether at home or in the show ring, his kids that I see regularly, have all indeed lived up to expectations and beyond. I saw Nugi yesterday, he is big and beautiful and he greeted me...with paws on my shoulders, face to face and with a nice big smooch!! Hele enjoyed the bath that she was trying to give Marlei yesterday, and last night, courtesy of Takoda's turbo tongue, I was supporting the latest in "leo designer hair do's"....the product in my hair was "gel a la leolick" !!! very becoming......not!!! LOL. So in saying that Basso and Mitta's puppies have become loved family members above all else....that should make any breeder or owner happy."

and Trish said of Murphy's behaviour at the 2007 Royal Melbourne Show:-
"It is very easy to talk about Leo's & tell people how perfect they are, & what a great nature they have, but I think most of them could see that for themselves. We were very pleased with Murphy & the way he behaved. He had hands in his face & all over his body all day & didn't get agitated or grumpy or want to sit up on his bed. He wanted to stay down on the ground with the people. Even at the end of the day when we were all tired, he was fine. We were stopped a couple of times walking him out to the car and he still said hello to the people."

Konig and I have continued our work in 2008 in the Victorian State Government run Responsible Pet Education Program. We work the program in both primary schools and special schools and we are now in our fifth and Konig's last year of work in the program. I am hoping to have one of our other Leos to follow in Konig's footsteps in 2009. Konig is a delight to take into schools and is loved by all the children and teachers whom we meet.

I attended the staff Christmas luncheon in 2007and was presented with a toy for Konig. He is pictured with his new musical snowman, which I am sure he would be only to happy to de-stuff and remove the music box, if allowed!

You can find out more about our work on his page.
